I am definitely an iced coffee addict. I have tried all the different types of iced coffees from fast food chains, Starbucks, local coffee shops, and even convenient stores. They all have their own little twist. There are different flavors and there are just regular iced coffees. Iced coffee is actually less expensive than a mocha or latte, and usually runs pretty similar in price around town.
First at the fast food chains, Burger King and McDonald’s both have a pretty good iced coffee. Burger King’s BK Mocha Joe is one of my favorites. They only have one size, I think 20 oz., and it is $1.99 before tax. The mocha flavoring is so good; it is rich, sweet, and satisfying. McDonald’s iced coffee is really good also, and it comes in two different sizes and a few different flavors. The iced coffee comes in medium, 20 oz, and large, I think 32 oz. The different flavors are caramel, vanilla, and hazelnut; I also think you can get any of those same flavors in sugar free. The medium iced coffee is $1.69 before tax and the large is around $1.99 before tax. The medium hazelnut iced coffee is a good single serve coffee and my favorite from McDonald’s. It is very rich in taste and it is the perfect size for the price.

Next are the coffee shops iced coffees. Starbucks iced coffee is good if your looking for plain and simple. Obviously, flavors can be added to your iced coffee based on personal preference. I added caramel to the iced coffee I ordered and it was good, but not great. There are 3 different sizes (tall, grande, venti) and a numerous amount of flavored syrups that can be added. The grande or medium iced coffee with no flavor added was around $1.99 before tax. Another coffee shop with iced coffees is Joe Muggs, inside Books A Million, a local book store. The iced coffee I ordered there was a medium, 16 oz, with no extra flavors. It was very bold and dark. I had to add milk and sugar to it myself. There are extra flavors that can be added, but I wanted to try it without anything added to it. I think the medium iced coffee was around $1.75 before tax. There was not really any spark in the taste of this iced coffee, but it was bold and simple if that’s what you are looking for.
Now are the convenient stores. Not a whole lot of the convenient stores have the iced coffee machines, but most of them do have the cappuccino machine. Some of the convenient stores that do have the iced coffee machines and that I have tried are Shell and Chevron or U-Pak it. It is the same machine at both stores. There are two flavors, mocha and French vanilla. There are also two sizes, medium and large, or sometimes you can use the cappuccino cups. The price for the medium is around $1.79 before tax, and I think the large is close to $1.99 before tax. I have tried both flavors, but the mocha flavoring tastes better to me. These iced coffees are good if your looking for easy and convenient because you make it yourself and your in and out of the store pretty quick. They taste good at first, but then leave an indifferent after taste for some reason. The are about the same price as the others, so your not really saving any money for the convenience.
