I buy a lot of dollar meals, because they are cheap and they are the right portion size for me. I had a gastric bypass in 2001, so my stomach doesn’t hold much food at one time. I buy the food for my family, and everyone has their likes, and we don’t all like the same things.
I choose the Banquet meals, because they are the cheapest. I can buy 30 of them and have one every night for supper. They aren’t the healthiest food item, but due to my limited income, they make sense for me and my taste. The Banquet meals are usually around 7 Weight Watchers Points Plus value points, which is fairly good for an entrée.

Now, how do I make a Banquet meal healthier? I add a serving of vegetables on the side and a fruit. I oftentimes, make a fruit salad which I told you about in a previous article. I like to add a sprinkling of Special K on top with a serving of non-fat yogurt; it is sweet, chewy, healthy and good tasting. I also like to add a slice or two of Nature’s Own 40 Calorie whole wheat bread. Nature’s Own 40 Calorie bread looks, feels and tastes like the regular brand of Nature’s Own bread, and I can have two slices which is like once slice of the regular bread.
I buy my vegetables in bulk at Wal-Mart. I like the stir fry veggies with the little tiny ears of corn, mushrooms, chestnuts, and other veggies in it. I can get about 8 meals out of the one large bag. It’s cheaper, in the long run, to buy the larger quantity of frozen vegetables, than buying the one pound bags of the same item.
I like sour cream on a lot of my foods, but it’s loaded with fat, and I don’t care for the fat free version. So, I found a great substitute. I use Greek yogurt for sour cream and it works perfectly. I will mix some salsa in with the plain Greek yogurt and make a great salad dressing. Sometimes I use just plain salsa on my salads. I don’t like the fat free versions of ranch and thousand island salad dressings, so salsa is a great substitute. Thus, having an entrée with a green salad on the side or a serving of cooked or raw veggies is a good way to spruce up a not so healthy meal.
I like cheesecake, but we all know that it’s loaded with calories. I found a new way to serve it. I buy a graham cracker crust, and mix in sugar free, fat free dry pudding mix in about 2 cups of Greek Yogurt. You can use any flavor of pudding. I like banana pudding in mine, but chocolate and vanilla will work just as well also. Along with the good reviews, the sellers should furnish the feedbacks or a negative mega igg2000 review to the person. Proper research should be done at the sites for the information regarding the dosage of the supplements.
